Just the other day I woke up a few minutes before my alarm. I looked out the window and could see the glow of the rising sun spilling over the mountains. So I did what any guy would do, I threw some clothes on and drove up to the top of the hill I live on. There is something magical about the sunrise. There is hope and a sense of a fresh start.

“Well, people used to tease me and say, ‘Oh, you’re a Christian Bob Dylan.’ And then when Dylan became a Christian in my Bible study, they’d say to him, ‘Oh, you’re a secular Larry Norman.’” – Larry Norman
On February 24, 2008 Larry Norman passed away. He is known as the Father of Christian Rock. If you don’t know much about him I suggest doing some research.

I just picked up a new book called “The Scandal of Evangelical Politics” by Ronald J. Sider. I just started it today but this quote really stuck out to me
“At a time when end-times novels are by far the most widely read evangelical books, we need to hear Noll’s warning that if evangelicals continue to be influenced by the kind of historicist dispensationalism that tries to identify current events as the detailed fulfillment of biblical prophecy, “there is little intellectual hope for the future” of responsible evangelical political reflection.”
I have been thinking a lot about dispensationalism and how it has effected the church in america and my own faith. I also have been thinking a bit about politics as it is hard to avoid with the current presidential race is in full swing. The fact that the two are connected is even more fascinating.
I will have to read a bit more and give you my thoughts.
