There are a few books I’m reading during the break:

Okay so I have to admit something… I am completely out of the music loop this year. I haven’t been listening to much new stuff. So my list is not necessarily what I would say are the best albums of the year but what new albums I have been listening to the most.

Death Cab For Cutie – Narrow Stairs: Not my favorite DCFC album but overall I really liked it. Favorite song is “Grapevine Fires”

Hillsong – This Is Our God: A few years ago I was a bit disillusioned by hillsong in general. But since learning more about their worship teams heart for the poor and marginalized I have begun to love their music. In fact look out for their new documentary that is supposed to be released in 2009.

Jon Foreman – Season Ep’s: I Loved all four eps. Favorite song is “Your Love is Strong”.

Deluge – Bethany Prayer Centers latest album. At first I didn’t want to hear it, Now its a regular on the play list.

Planet Shakers – For You I Live: Never listened to Planetshakers much before this album. I wouldn’t say its very musically innovative but a few songs on the album keep me listening. Favorite song : The Anthem

Michael Gungor Band – Ancient Skies: They re-released this album in 2008 (does that count?) and added some stuff. The Song White man as recommended by Tom Green has become my favorite.

Jesus Culture – Your Love Never Fails: latest from the charismatics in Redding, California. Their music has a prophetic edge that makes for a great album.
